About Dr. Rachel
Dr. Rachel is a 2020 graduate of Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine, and she is also a graduate from the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) as a mixed animal acupuncturist. Originally from Indiana, she felt from a very young age that working with animals was her life's calling. That passion is what first led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. At age 16, she got her first job working in the restaurant industry, and there she found that she loved serving people just as much as she loved spending time with animals. Dr. Rachel continued to work in restaurants until she was 25. At age 18, she also began working part-time as a Veterinary Assistant at Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency and Specialty (NIVES), where she was given many opportunities to grow, learn, and gain important hands-on experience. There, Dr. Rachel appreciated the opportunity to learn alongside a supportive and encouraging team of individuals, and she soon developed a love for teaching, hoping that she could one day use her skillset to empower others with whom she worked, and perhaps even more importantly, to empower owners to feel confident in understanding their pets' needs. Through her combined love of the human-animal bond, serving others, and owner education, Dr. Rachel hopes to offer an experience in veterinary medicine that is unique and valuable to pets and owners alike.
